OpenAI has launched group chat functionality for ChatGPT, marking a significant expansion beyond its traditional one-on-one interactions. The feature, now available to free and paid users across select Asian markets, will roll out globally in coming days.

The update enables up to twenty participants to collaborate in shared conversations, with ChatGPT serving as an active participant when tagged. Practical applications range from trip planning to collaborative document editing, with the AI capable of summarizing discussions or providing real-time analysis.

Notably, the system incorporates social cues like emoji reactions and profile photo recognition to enhance conversational flow. This strategic MOVE positions ChatGPT as a more versatile tool for both personal and professional use cases.
